A very uncommon tool developed by a very understated man, Simon Wardley created a mapping tool to assess the components of any business, industry, or offering in terms of the user.
I created this map (or rather its more complex cousin) for a client some years ago, and it serves a perfect demonstration of the tool. We tend to think about our products in terms of their features, and too easily forget that a user has to ultimately appreciate those features in order to buy.
